The Orchard of Life

When I was a small boy, my grandfather had an apple orchard on his farm. I loved picking an apple off of the tree and bitting into it. My mother used to say, "You need to wash that off before you eat it. There might be worms inside that apple." That fear and negativity takes away so much joy of the present moment that I hear people complain about today. I too am guilty of negative thinking, but it takes a lot of present moment awareness to rise above it. Sometimes it is a lifelong process. I hear people complain about politics, but politics is not the problem with our country. We need to take personal responsibility for our country and our own thoughts. It is time to stop blame and start to unite. Blame gets us nowhere but further apart. We are all in this world together. The Presidesident did not make the economy, and he cannot change it alone. There is beauty in this world and beauty in this country, and beauty in Richmond Indiana. People need to stop complaining and look at the good. Every person has divinity in them. We have forgotten this. It is ok to be lost sometimes like we are now. We will find ourselves again. Life is good. Don't give up on each other. We are all here for a purpose. Getting lost means that we will soon be found or maybe we will find ourselves for the first time. Being lost means we can explore new territories. There is nothing to fear in being lost and no shame in being lost. Each day brings a new horizon with new treats. One day we get to sample apples. The next day pears. Or perhaps try a kiwi, a plum, or a papaya. Go and find yourself. Better yet, go and lose yourself.
