Sacred Friends

This is another of my cats Lucky who is a little bit camera shy. She does not like me taking her picture, but she is indeed a wonderful friend to me.

There is something about animals that is truly magical. My cats can sense when I am sick, they know when it is time for me to get up, they let me know when I need to change their liter.

I have not set an alarm clock for over a year because Lucky wakes me up. She sleeps by me in bed. When it is time for me to get up in the morning, she jumps over my side. If I do not wake up the first time she jumps over a second time.

Every year animals are left on the side of the road, or destroyed, or abandoned by their owners. Everything was put into this world by our awareness, for our awareness, and it becomes our awareness. I think that animals can be our sacred friends, and when they are not treated with love, and dignity, and respect, we are not only harming their spirits but also doing damage to our own spirits.

Not everyone is a cat person or a dog person, but we can try to respect these creatures enough to learn something from them and find out what they have to teach us. Who knows, they may teach us something as simple as that they love us unconditionally.
