Awakening the Artist

I took this picture on December 26, 2011. I was just listening to Carol King's song, "I Feel the Earth Move Under my Feet" and it reminded me of this picture. Even though everything seemed to be dead, there were birds all around me. There were squirels and other small animals.
There were birds flying over the water singing joyfully. The sun was shinning and it was just me and nature. We all, though, have that love for beauty and art lying within us. It may be music, it may be spending time in nature, or making your own music.
The artist excites the young and old alike. We are born from a creative Universe, and we have a responsibilty to nurture our creativity no matter what negative messages we get from others. We just keep moving forward.
The artist within all of us is that we cherish and revere what we truly care for in life and what is most important to us. We need to learn to come alive with a new spirit and awaken our dusty inner artist. Let's dance even if we stumble and are clumsy and trip and fall. As long as we get back up and keep trying, we are an artist. Art is not about perfection; art is about perserverance and reverence.
Peace
