Sipping Tea

I skipped church this morning, and I sat home sipping this cup of berry tea instead. It is from my favorite cup. The colors make me feel alive. I once read about charkas that the color yellow is powerful and it mades us feel alive. That makes senes to me: The sunshine is yellow, the moon is yellow, flowers are yellow.
Instead of going to church, I spent some quiet time reading from my Bible. I am not a religous person, but I am a spiritual person. People who are religous say that is a cop out. Many who believe in one faith or another feel that you should stick to one religon and go every single Sunday. I ask why? Is God judging us to make sure that we are good boys and girls? One of the wisest people I have read on the topic of religon is Osho. Osho said, God judged us the day we were born. We are already his beings; we do not have to prove ourselves. We can be creative, loving, misunderstood, wild, or whoever we are and he will still love us.
We are not to fit into a predefined mold like many would have us think. This morning when I opened my Bible, it opened to Sirach 34:16 For those who fear the Lord will not be timid, or play the coward, for he is their hope. I think many people misinterpret the meaning of what was meant by the word "fear" in the Bible. I think fear mean to love and it is up to each of us to decide how to love our God.
God wants us to be creative and not to follow the crowd. Sometimes that requires great courage. Sometimes it means doing what others don't like, don't respect. Sometimes it is just being present with God and sipping a good cup of tea.
