Is it possible to teach yourself to be wise? Can you be wise when you are young? What is wisdom? Where does it come from?
I have read the Wisdom books in the Bible many times, and I am not certain if I have any clearer understanding of what wisdom is after reading that. I have had many difficult life experiences that I have overcome.
Experiences of feeling like I was a black sheep or the ugly duckling or the square peg in the round hole in my family. I am finally learning that it is ok to be different. So what if you don't fit in, or people don't approve of you.
It does not mean you are any less of a person. I think the quotation by vos Savant is very true, but I believe to be really wise we must be keen observers of ourselves. What pushes out buttons? What makes us sad? What makes us moody? Only then can we begin to learn what makes us happy, jublilent, and blisful.
I have read many times--but sometimes it takes me hearing it many times- that we are put on this earth to experience joy. This is our heaven now. Now is the time to love and stop putting limits on ourselves.
We watch the news, and we see another day of the economy bottoming out. Every day that I wake up and the sun is shinning and I am alive is a celebration. I almost let my light go out in 2008. I will not let that happen again.
We need to go boldly into uncharted territories. We need to follow our hearts and forget what the media tells us. We have our own truths. If we trust our higher power, we will never be led astray. Follow your truth, speak your truth, and you will be rewarded richly. This is truly being wise. Make sure you keep your fire burning, walk boldly, don't give into negativity, and see life as a celebration. Then wisdom will be in your heart. Even if you get some battle scars, wear your wounds on your sleve proudly. Don't let this nation of youth and perfect beauty intimidate you. You too are beautiful because you have resilence and stamina. Wisdom is the greatest virtue. Begin your journey of wisdom.
